Paul is a Partner in the firm overseeing all of the firm’s branches and activities. Paul is an extremely experienced lawyer with a background in corporate law.

Paul’s corporate expertise includes mergers and acquisitions and drafting and advising on all aspects of commercial contracts.

Paul specialises in advising both individuals and financial institutions and providers within the regulated sector. His expertise and experience provide an invaluable perspective within our firm whilst also greatly enhancing our technical understanding of the financial products and investments.

Paul’s work is extremely varied as he deals with financial advisers, brokers, insurers and various other entities in the financial services sector. His expertise in corporate and commercial law allows him to offer holistic ‘all round’ advice to his clients, providing them with invaluable business and commercial advice and support.

Paul is renowned as a practical and pragmatic adviser with a sensible and straightforward manner.

Gareth has acquired an exceptionally high profile, both nationally and internationally, in the financial services sector.

He has in-depth experience across a wide variety of failed funds and investments, including Harlequin, Arch Cru, Keydata Investment Services Limited, ARM, Stirling Mortimer, Unregulated Collective Investment Schemes (UCIS), Sustainable Growth Group, Alpha Bank – Cyprus and Green Oil, to name but a few.

Frequently consulted by the media, Gareth has been quoted in numerous articles published by the Financial Times, The Mail on Sunday, FT Adviser and Money Marketing, among others.

His work for regulated firms spans the full range of engagement with the FCA, from basic regulatory enquiries to representing clients before the Upper Tribunal. He also led the British Steel Adviser Group, acting for firms exposed to British Steel pension transfer advice. Testament to the success of this project is the fact that the vast majority of these firms are still trading today.

In addition, Gareth assists firms with M&A projects, from initial brokerage and Change in Control applications through to closures by way of solvent liquidation. This additional depth of experience provides a reassuring influence as firms progress through transactions.

Renowned for his energetic and creative approach, Gareth is adept at finding alternative solutions for clients outside the usual court or regulatory routes. His ability to work collaboratively not only with investor clients, but also with advisers and fund providers and promoters, is a rare skill—one that has made him the unquestioned expert in this particular field.

Iain is a Chartered Accountant with significant experience in the transactional market. He previously headed the Corporate Finance department in a well known independent Midlands accountancy practice and acted for both regulated firms and financial institutions. Iain brings a strong commercial understanding together with associated tax knowledge to commercial sales.

Baljit is an experienced solicitor with an exceptional knowledge of both corporate and employment law.

Baljit handles all aspects of corporate mergers and acquisitions ranging from small to multi-million pound deals and can effectively advise on the related employment issues that inevitably arise. He offers a wide range of human resources services from contract drafting to advising on how to protect your hard-won client lists. In a sector where regulations change uniformly, Baljit has been essential to his clients’ business success. His style is proactive and tactical, bringing to corporate and individual clients an effective approach on how to manage and exploit their entitlements under law.
Baljit’s HR support service has been pivotal to cases from human rights violations to failed commercial ventures. He has led on settlements which have been multi-jurisdictional with multiple plaintiffs such as the ‘ready to rent’ investments in Eastern Europe, where he has won 10’s of millions of euros in compensation for his clients.
